ilovegorgeous Spring Summer 2007 campaign
Estée Keith is a familiar face at the ilovegorgeous Notting Hill HQ – this picture of Estée (from 2007) hangs proudly on our office wall. Estée was ilovegorgeous’s first model and muse and was a campaign girl for the brand from 2007 to 2009.
A fabulous dancer, Estée was one of the first pupils at the prestigious The Ballet School, Notting Hill and her mum Claire is a co-founder. Our very own designer, Lucy Enfield, sent both her daughters to the school and it is widely regarded as the best in London. With ballet and dance influences featuring heavily throughout the current ilovegorgeous collection we thought it was an opportune moment to catch up with Estée (still dancing, and a talented student at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls).
We caught up with Estée, now 15 years of age to chat about dance, life & loves…
ON MODELLING FOR ILOVEGORGEOUS: My fondest memories are being desperate to eat the cupcakes on the set & the amazing sleepovers that the models had after the shoots.
Dance makes me feel alive & confident.
I love ballet because when I am dancing I can forget about everything else and lose myself in the music.
My dream job would be acting or directing in films.
My favourite song is Flawless by Beyoncé.
I spend my money on music and food.
On the weekend I like to dance – of course, and see my friends, although they usually come together as most of my friends dance as well.
The greatest lesson my mum taught me, aside from how to do the perfect ballet bun, was to persevere through everything and anything because you have to work to achieve your dreams.
Home is anywhere with a DVD player and a boxset of musicals.
My advise to anyone considering ballet is go for it and even though at the beginning it seems hard, as you learn more, you come to love it even more.
I look up to Angelina Jolie, Mala Yousafzi and Emma Watson because of their amazing work for women’s rights.
